SIGNAL, NOT NOISE

AMD drops $4.9B to muscle into AI data centers 🚛

AMD is done playing nice. The chipmaker just shelled out $4.9 billion to acquire ZT Systems, a company that builds AI-optimized servers for cloud giants like Microsoft and Meta. This isn’t about graphics cards anymore — AMD wants to own the whole AI hardware stack.

The deal adds 1,500 engineers to its roster and signals a full-court press into the data center space, where Nvidia has long dominated with its end-to-end AI systems. Instead of just supplying the parts, AMD now wants to design the machines that train your favorite models.

💡 Takeaway: In the AI gold rush, Nvidia’s selling picks. AMD just bought the mine, the shovels, and half the crew.

AI ON THE MOVE

Apple’s quietly building your next health coach 🏋️‍♂️

Apple’s latest AI project might be its most personal yet. Internally dubbed “Project Mulberry,” the company is developing a health-focused AI coach that lives on your iPhone.

Pulling from your Apple Watch, Health app, and more, it’ll offer real-time, tailored wellness advice — think sleep, nutrition, and exercise nudges — without triggering the FDA’s red tape.

The goal? Turn your iPhone into a preventative care sidekick — always watching, learning, and gently suggesting you drink more water and order fewer late-night burgers.

🩺 Prediction: You’ll ask your phone about your heart rate before calling your doctor… and probably trust it more.
